Only a Diary（ただの日記帳）
In short
This app collects nothing about you.
The developer runs no server. There is simply no path by which your entries or photos could reach the developer.
What is never collected
This app does not collect or transmit any of the following.
- Your entries, photos, dates, or how the day felt
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact details
- Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or location
- Usage data: how often you open the app, which features you use, how many days you have written
- Crash reports
No account and no sign-in are required. The app contains no analytics tools and no advertising frameworks.
Where your diary lives
What you write is stored only on your device. No other app can read it.
If you reset your device or delete the app, your diary goes with it. The developer holds no copy, so there is no way to recover it. Export your diary to a file from time to time, and keep that file somewhere other than the device.
When the app connects to the network
This app connects only when you press "Back up now" or "Restore". At no other time does it communicate over the network.
The destination is your own cloud account.
- iPhone / iPad — the private area of your Apple ID (iCloud)
- Android — the app-specific folder in your Google Drive
On Android the app requests exactly one scope, drive.appdata. It reaches only a hidden folder belonging to this app and cannot even list your other files in Drive.
In both cases, what you store stays inside your own account. The developer cannot see it and has no means to.
Photos
When you attach a photo, the app asks for access to your photo library. The photo you choose is copied into the app's own storage and stays on your device. It leaves only if you press "Back up now", in which case it goes to your own cloud along with your entries.
Biometrics
If you set a passcode, you can open the app with Face ID or Touch ID. Your face and fingerprint data are never given to the app. The operating system performs the match and the app receives only whether it was you.
Exported files
Files produced by "Export" are assembled entirely on your device. They pass through no server.
Inside is plain text, JSON and images, so they remain readable without this app. If you seal a file with a passphrase, only that passphrase opens it. The passphrase is stored neither on your device nor on any server. If you forget it, not even the developer can open the file.
Sharing with third parties
Nothing is collected, so there is nothing to share. The developer does not sell, transfer, or share your information with anyone.
Payment
This app is a one-time purchase. Payment is handled by the App Store, and the developer never receives your payment details. For how Apple handles that information, see Apple's privacy policy.
Children
This app is suitable for any age. Since it collects no information from anyone, it collects none from children either.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, this page will be updated and the date above revised. The app will not begin collecting information; should that ever change, it will be stated plainly when the app is updated.
